Finding out about Diwali

To launch our Celebrations topic, this week Class 1 have been learning all about Diwali.

We have watched a video about a family preparing and celebrating Diwali and listened to the story of Rama and Sita. We have made our own Festival of Light lanterns and created and explored making Rangoli patterns and mendhi patterns. 
 

The children have also had great fun working together to build temples using our wooden blocks, role played in our small world, explored the sensory tray and made loose part rangoli patterns.
