Computing lessons
Recently during computing lessons we have been using an app called Scratch, to programme a sprite to move across the screen in different ways. This week we have created a few short animations such as a giraffe eating leaves from a tree and a dancing unicorn at a party!
Caring for our teeth!
Class 1 today had some special visitors who came to talk to us about how to care for our teeth.
The school nurses bought their friend Charlie and his giant tooth brush and toothpaste and the children helped him to brush his teeth. Everyone worked together to sort different food and drinks…
What a fantastic and fun PE lesson we had this week in Class 1!
What fun Class 1 had this week in our PE lesson! Mrs Castell was so impressed with the children’s balance and agility skills and their listening. All the children enjoyed using the benches and equipment and playing the games together at the end.
I wonder what skills the children will work on…
Our bean journey continues…
Today we planted out our seeds/seedlings into compost. Some of the seeds have germinated beautifully whilst others have hardly changed at all. It’s been a great visual example for the children to see that even given all the right conditions, not all seeds will continue the life cycle.

Feeding the birds
This afternoon we went outside to hang our bird feeders we had made in topic last week. We could hear all of the birds chirping. Class 1 really hope they enjoy the feeders!
Circuits with Switches
In Science, we have been learning about insulators and conductors. We investigated materials in a circuit, such as wood, copper, foil and glass. We then created our own switches using materials we knew were conductors. We were really pleased when the bulb lit up.
History - using artefacts
Last week we learnt about the Anglo Saxon boat that was discovered at Sutton Hoo in 1939. We read lots of information about it and discussed how it may have got there and how the condition of the soil preserved it so well, making it one of the most exciting hoards ever found.
