Our bean journey continues…
Today we planted out our seeds/seedlings into compost. Some of the seeds have germinated beautifully whilst others have hardly changed at all. It’s been a great visual example for the children to see that even given all the right conditions, not all seeds will continue the life cycle.

Feeding the birds
This afternoon we went outside to hang our bird feeders we had made in topic last week. We could hear all of the birds chirping. Class 1 really hope they enjoy the feeders!
Circuits with Switches
In Science, we have been learning about insulators and conductors. We investigated materials in a circuit, such as wood, copper, foil and glass. We then created our own switches using materials we knew were conductors. We were really pleased when the bulb lit up.

We’ve had a wonderfully expressive afternoon creating self portraits in the style of Picasso. The children focused on mark making, composition and colour. They created some fabulous work!
Alien Phonics
Class 1 have had such fun this morning practising their phonics. We have been incredibly busy learning new sounds and this morning while in the provision, the children enjoyed playing a game which help to reinforce their phoneme grapheme correspondence.

Final knitting session 2026
We all managed to produce something in knitting today. The children all tried really hard and have learnt a new skill. I know some of them are keen to continue at home and I would love to see anything they go on to create.
Robots!
We’ve been busy in Computing today learning all about ‘commands’. The children had a great time programming their robots with their chosen commands and then watching them go!
