Y2 and Y3 transition Art
We ended the week with a transition afternoon. Year 2 and 3 created their own backgrounds with watercolour paints then wrote facts about themselves in their neatest writing. It was a lovely way to re introduce ourselves after a year in different classes! These will make a lovely display in our…
Music with Mrs Rock
The children enjoyed a lovely music session with the fabulously talented Mrs Rock this morning. They focused on finding the beat, copying rhythm and recognising then beating out the syllables in their names.
DT in Class 3
This week we have been comparing the qualities of different materials we could use to create a miniature greenhouse. We planned which materials would make a strong, square structure and then which transparent materials would be suitable for the windows. We then worked in small groups, following…
Show and Tell
We were extremely fortunate in ‘show and tell’ this afternoon as Louis brought in a real antler found on Cannock Chase. The children were enthralled to learn all about deer and to be able to touch a real antler!
Spelling Bee
Wow! What a close contest we had this afternoon when we were joined by St. Mary’s and All Saints for the KS1 Spelling Bee. All the children were fantastic but Class 2 managed to beat the competition and win the trophy! Incredible amounts of hard work, courage and composure culminated in an Anson…
Art and Crafts club
This lunchtime we made positive affirmation rosettes. We celebrated our qualities and wore our affirmations with pride.
Keeping cool in Class 1!

Telling the time
Today we used the small clocks to practise telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes.
Ice pops and sprinkler fun
Today we tried to keep cool at break time with ice pops and running through the sprinkler.
Goodbye Pig the Pug - thank you for coming to Class 1!
What a fantastic time Class 1 have had with Pig the Pug over the past couple of weeks.
We are sad to see him go and will miss him lots, but we have enjoyed the adventures and activities we have shared and hope he has the best time at All Saints.
French weather
Today we learnt how to describe the weather in French. We then chose our favourite weather to draw and describe on a piece of paper which we turned into a fan to cool us down in this hot weather.
Keeping cool
We’ve been lucky enough to spend lots of time outside in the shade today, keeping cool by dipping our feet in cool water and reading our story under the trees. One of our class is celebrating their birthday today and very kindly brought ice lollies in for us all to share! They were very gratefully…
