Turner skies
Wow! The children have been exploring colour mixing and adding black and white to experiment with tone and shade. They produced some thoughtful and dramatic skies, inspired by the work of William Turner.
That’s not my rocket!
The children tested their sense of touch today as they felt different fabrics and tried to match them to the ones on our feely board. Then we took our learning outside and described why ‘that’s not my rocket’ as we found different materials to make its body out of.
Sikhi meditation
The children had a wonderfully calming R.E. Lesson this afternoon, learning all about the importance of meditation in the Sikhi faith.
Colour wheels
We’ve been learning all about primary and secondary colours this afternoon. We painted our colour wheels, mixing our own secondary colours!
History-Queen Elizabeth I
Today we’ve been learning all about Queen Elizabeth I and life in Tudor times. The children made masks of Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry VIII and a jester!
Science-materials hunt!
The children enjoyed scouring the playground in search of objects made from various materials on their list. They used a tally chart to record their findings and compared their results with each other once back in class. We have some very good scientists in the making!
Art-exploring brush strokes
Class 2 wowed again today with their incredible creativity! They explored thick and thin, big and small, with their brushes this afternoon, to fantastic effect!
Outdoor classroom clean up!
The children donned their gardening gloves and set to work tidying up our lovely outdoor classroom today. They got stuck in weeding and tidying, making friends with the caterpillars, worms and ladybirds along the way!
Science-crash landing!
Oh no! NASA crashed one of their space craft in to our school today! Tim Peake tasked the children with sorting out the debris by material group, ready for the next mission.
Maths-exploring mass
Year one have been exploring mass with some hands on activities this morning. They enjoyed adding the cubes to balance the scales.
Great Fire of London Day!

Building our models of playground equipment
The children worked extremely hard this afternoon making their models. They designed, selected appropriate materials and built them with little intervention. From seesaws to swings, slides, tunnels and monkey bars, their creations were fantastic!
