Inspired by David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday celebrations, we went outside to care for our planet by litter picking the field and watering the crops.
Labelling and exploring
This afternoon with one of our parent helpers, we had a quick tidy up of the outdoor classroom, weeding, labelling the vegetable beds and watering. We also found quite a lot of minibeasts enjoying our outdoor space!
Caring for our plants
With all of the warm, sunny and dry weather we have had recently, it is important we water our newly planted fruit and vegetables.
Planting 2026
Before the rain started, we enjoyed planting new vegetables in their new beds. We carried on with this on Friday morning when the weather was better! We are looking forward to watching them grow and harvesting to use with our school meals.
Girls football session
Today a specialist football coach came in to work with just the Class 3 girls. They played lots of different games whilst developing their passing and dribbling skills.

Snow Fun!
We have loved seeing all the children today to start the new year. We have had lots of fun playing in the snow. Huge snowmen were created with joy. Smiles and red noses all around.
Investigating surfaces in Science
We have learnt about John McAdam in Science. He was a Scottish engineer who modernised the way we build our roads. We investigated lots of different surfaces using toy cars and Newton Meters. We reflected on what properties made a successful road.
Active maths, multiples of 2
Year 3 braved the frosty weather for Maths today! They were recognising multiples of 2, completing a series of counting tasks and missing number activities outside.
Throwing and catching skills in PE
Today we practised our bowling skills, comparing over arm and under arm bowls. We also perfected our catching skills, thinking about the position of our feet and hands so we can be ready to move quickly in any direction to catch.
