We had a fantastic time visiting 6 different places of worship around Uttoxeter. These included: Church of England, Methodist Church, Roman Catholic Church, Quakers, Reform Church and Renew Church. We learnt lots about how the people of each church worship God and how each form of belief differs…

We have been creating our own final pieces inspired by Lowry. We have tried to use all the skills that we have been practising in our art unit on charcoal. Fantastic artwork Class 3. 

This afternoon we took our art lesson outside.  The children got to grips with clay modelling and did a fantastic job of creating their own ‘Wedgwood inspired’ pots.

This morning Class 2 enjoyed an Autumn walk around the grounds. We were exploring our senses; what can we see, hear, feel, smell and taste? We shared some autumn poetry and indulged in hot chocolate too. 
 

Class 4 did a great job of running their leadership games with Class 2.

In maths this week, Class 1 have been exploring 1, 2 and 3 and using our mathematical skills and Ten Town to support our learning. We have meet King One, a Tommy Two and Thelma Three and played some brilliant number formation and subitising games to help us recognise these numbers.

Today we learnt about the 1914 Christmas Truce and re-enacted it small groups. 
 

A number of our children made need feeders in the outdoor classroom.

Class 1 have been learning about Keeping our Teeth Healthy this week in our topic.

The children have completed an experiment using apples to see what happens if our enamel on our teeth is damaged - we are waiting to see the results tomorrow!

What an incredible 2 days at Standon Bowers with Class 3. We have loved our adventure!
