Today we became Historians and looked at different sources such as newspaper reports, photos and birth certificates to piece together the life of a significant Army officer who was killed during WW1. Despite growing up in an orphanage and experiencing racism, Walter Tull became the first black officer to serve in the British Army, bravely leading many attacks.
