Tricky Triangles

Today in our active maths session Class 1 were exploring using triangles to make new shapes. Everyone had their own triangle and we traveled different ways around the outside space. Mrs Philp or Mrs Castell then rolled a dice and the children then had to identify the number rolled on the dice by subitising the dots and get into groups of that number.
 

Once in their group the children worked carefully to explore the different shapes they could make with their triangles. The children enjoyed working together and finding how many different shapes they could make with the triangles. We had some fantastic hexagons and larger triangles made. Fantastic tricky triangle work Class 1!
