This week as a whole school we have been sharing the fantastic book, Flower Power!
The children have loved hearing this story and have been creative throughout the week in activities inspired by this story. They have also shared their ideas fantastically during circle times about what we need to grow and flourish and how we can help each other in class grow.
Today was an extra special day as we all got to meet the very talented, Caroline Wedd, who is both the author and illustrator of this gorgeous book. Caroline talked to us in worship about her life growing up and how she created the book. We were then incredibly lucky that she then came to join us in Class 1. Caroline loved seeing the children create beautiful paintings of some flowers and add the correct number of petals to the flowers in our maths area.
The book teaches us about many different fantastic things and shows us that with love, encouragement, perseverance and resilience we can all flourish and grow. Some things that all the children in Class 1 have shown throughout this week and no doubt will continue to throughout their time in Class 1 and at Anson!
