Today we worked in groups to the role play an escape from the peaceful Pompeii to the moment Mount Vesuvius erupted.
We highlighted clues from the book that suggested the volcano may erupt and used these as part of our acting:
The seagulls were flying in the opposite direction.
Thick clouds of smoke and ash were in the sky
A bird chirped frantically in the cafe as the air filled with smoke
