In our RE session today, we found out that other religions have books that are incredibly important to them, just like the Bible is important to Christians. We found out that in the Islamic faith, their special book is called the Qur’an. It is full of stories that help teach Muslim people how to look after the world and all that it is in it. We listened to the story about The Tiny Ants, which teaches Muslims to care for all the creatures in our world. The children then shared their ideas how we can care for the animals in our world and what we could do to help the smallest creatures in our school grounds.
The children then designed their own bug hotels carefully thinking about what they would need to put in it for the creatures to be safe and happy. We have had some brilliant designs. Everyone has taken their designs home and Mrs Philp has challenged the children to have a go at making their bug hotel over half term and to find a suitable shaded spot for it in their gardens. We are looking forward to hearing about their bug hotels after the half term holiday!
