Image of Caterpillars arrival!

Today Class 1 had a parcel delivered to school, inside there were lots of baby caterpillars!! There was a letter from some scientists asking Class 1 to look after the caterpillars for them. We need to observe them and make any notes and report back to them!

We carefully followed the instructions from the scientists and moved our baby caterpillars to their own pot, putting food inside for them, making air holes and ensuring our lid was on tightly.

We created some Class rules for our caterpillar table to ensure we were all looking after them correctly and that any visitors to our class knew how to be careful around them.

In the afternoon we added our first entry into our caterpillar diary, drawing diagrams of what equptiment we used and writing what we have observed so far. We have had an amazing time watching our little caterpillars move around their pots and are fascinated by how they move.

We look forward to sharing our caterpillars journey with you.
