Performing poetry
We enjoyed an immersive English lesson today as we delved into the world of performing arts. The children read their parts with fabulous expression, concentrating on volume and pace as well as some imaginative gestures!
Greenpower Session 1 - 2026
Today we have begun our Greenpower Racing project in DT. Our year 6 teams began dissembling the vehicles whilst the year 5 teams collaborated on a design for each car.
Sketching in Art and Design
We have started our new Art and Design unit on Sketching.
Today we experimented with creating effects using different techniques. We used a range of pencils to see what effect they made too.
Animals
This week we have been learning about animals that would live in the jungle. We read the story of Rumble in the Jungle and thought about the habitat those animals would live in. Then we went for a ride on our magic classroom carpet and landed in the jungle. We heard so many different animal…

We’ve had a lovely afternoon learning about Shrove Tuesday, indulging in pancakes and a few Valentine’s treats too.
Mixed class reading session
We’ve had a wonderful morning reading with Class 4. The children read together and shared in the joy of books!
Sequencing sounds
During computing time, we continued our work with ‘Scratch’. Today we sequenced sounds to match the movements of our characters. We added in sounds like the crowd cheering when a footballer scored a goal and waves and bubbles to match an under the sea scene.
Microbit Class 4 - Spring term 2
We have finished using are microbits this week Andy we’ve had a go at choosing our own programming.
Easter Play
The children have had their first run through of our Easter Play! A letter has been sent home detailing performance day and times as well as costumes.
Our Music lessons next half term will focus on learning the songs. We can’t wait to perform it for you in just over a months…
Children’s Mental Health Week 2026
This week we shared a story called ‘Find Your Happy’. We talked about all the different emotions we have and practiced expressing these emotions with our faces. The children all made a picture drawing all of the lovely things they do or have that make them happy.

Class 2 PE
In our PE lesson with Miss Jarrett today we used the equipment to show our balancing and transition skills. It was so much fun and we were all very sensible using the equipment safely.
