It has been a very exciting day in Class 1 today as as well as celebrating World Book Day, our caterpillars have arrived safely. Some lovely scientists have kindly sent us each a tiny caterpillar and some special food so that we can watch them grow and change into butterflies. We worked together to add some special food into each pot and then carefully put in the caterpillars. We have talked about how we need to care for our caterpillars and be gentle with them. The children had great fun naming and observing their caterpillars and many of the caterpillars have been named!
We are all so excited to watch them grow and change and then make their own chrysalis in preparation for their change to butterflies! We will keep you updated on how big and fat they grow- so far they are being very active and eating lots, just like another caterpillar we all know and love!
