Image of Our first butterfly!

Our very first butterfly has emerged from its cocoon! We are all so very excited. Our butterflies have taken a little longer than usual to emerge due to the colder weather but have had a lovely time at Mrs Baters house over the Easter holidays, so a big thank you to Mrs Bater.

We noticed he had emerged this morning and saw his crumpled wings and red meconium which is what is left over from the caterpillar that wasn’t needed to make the butterfly. We then quickly made some sugar water for them to drink, scored some orange segments and found some flowers to add to our habitat.

Class 1 are keeping their fingers crossed for more of our butterflies to come out very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates
