Dice game for multiplication
The Year 4 children are still practising their times tables every day in preparation for their upcoming multiplication check. Today they played a new game where they rolled 2 dice and whatever numbers they landed on they multiplied together and had to work out the answer in 6 seconds! Fast maths…
VE Day - 80 years!
Today we came to school dressed in red, white and blue for Victory in Europe day. We gathered as a school at our Memorial garden for a one minutes silence at noon, followed by a special prayer.
In Class 3 we watched video clips from 1945 to show what celebrations were like in London 80 years…
Boccia tournament
Some of Class 3 took part in a Boccia tournament against St Mary’s. Boccia is a sport using precision to roll balls at a target and see who can stop the closest. Everyone did very well! The final score was very close, 27-30 to Anson.
Planting 2025!
Today we had some help from some parent volunteers to organise our vegetable patches! We planted lots of seeds, amongst them tomato, lettuce, carrots and green beans, and we are hoping to see some of them grow before we break up for the Summer holidays! Thank you to our kind volunteers for…

We hope you have a lovely Easter! Here are some photos of us making your Easter cards. We discussed the symbolism on the card, the crucifix to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us all and the egg shape and flowers to remind us of new life.
French poetry
The children enjoyed using a bi lingual French dictionary to look up words for their Easter French poem. Super confident work!
Planting potatoes
Today some of our class spent some time in the outdoor classroom planting potatoes.
Orienteering round 2
Today we completed another orienteering course, the time working independently to record the letter placed at each coloured check point.
Times Tables Rockstars Champions
Congratulations to this terms TTRS most improved players! All the children have worked super hard on their tables this week, keep it up Class 3!
A Roman Banquet!
This morning we used spelt flour to bake our own Roman recipe bread. Spelt is an ancient grain widely grown during Roman times. We also enjoyed trying other Roman snacks such as figs, olives and the more familiar grapes and pears. Most of us agreed we prefer modern day food!
Orienteering
Today we completed our first orienteering course in PE. We used a map of the school grounds to navigate our way to retrieve the markers identified on the maps. We worked in teams to find the quickest way to complete the course without missing out any check points.
