Ordering numbers on a number line
Today we started Active Maths. We estimated where different numbers cards went on each numberline, up to 1000 for Y3 and up to 10,000 for Y4.
Learning to play the recorder
Today we learnt some of the basics of recorder playing, accompanied with some singing, dancing, guitar and drum playing.
How can we be a steward of God’s world?
This was the question we answered in RE today after looking at some of the things God created in our outdoor classroom. We came up with things such as Litter picking, not wasting water, giving to the poor and planting more trees.

New start for the outdoor area
Between the heavy rain showers, Class 3 have worked hard to gather the last of the vegetables (mainly beans and tomatoes) and pick the many weeds from the beds so they are clear for Winter. Great teamwork children!
New saint and value
Our new value for this half term is ‘Responsibility’. The saint we are learning about is St Mary, who was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. This was not just a responsibility but a huge honour!
New History Topic
This afternoon we introduced our new History topic, World War 1. We started off with an art activity, the children were able to choose their own materials and techniques to create poppies for our poppy wreath display. We spoke about the significance of the poppy and read the poem ‘In Flanders…
Anson’s got talent auditions
This week we have held our auditions and here are the 3 groups through to the final from Class 3.
Trim trail treat
Since it is nearly the end of the year we had an extended break on the Trim Trail today!
Topography maps
Today we used an atlas to locate different UK mountains. We then used different materials to recreate the topography of them as show on the maps.
Terrific Transition Day!
Our current Y2 and Y3 children spent the whole day together today, as the new Class 3! They enjoyed being in the same cohort once again and completed lots of beautiful Art task to put their own stamp on the class ready for September.
Trim trail time!
Today Y2 and Y3 played together on the new trim trail. The children all agreed it was great exercise.
